Lil Wayne - Prison Record (2010) [Explicit] + Review

[LIL WAYNE PRISON RECORD REVIEW]:

For the first time ever in a blog post for a download link to a promotional mixtape by Lil Wayne, we are reviewing a mixtape on a scale of 1 to 10 and we will be going through its strong points and its low points. The link, of course, will be packaged along with this review.

"Prison Record" is a unofficial mixtape featuring the latest work by Lil Wayne during its time of release. As this is unofficial, Weezy has nothing to do with this or the cover. The mixtape was decent but not that good or great as a whole. There were a few standouts like the untagged "BedRock (Pt. 2)" which features fellow singers/rappers Drake and Lloyd. Lloyd introduces a new verse that is not in the original album version on "We Are Young Money" which is followed by the same two recycled verses by Drake and Lil Wayne. If you are looking for a alternative verse by Lil Wayne on "BedRock", I suggest you hunt down the version with former Young Money member Omarion.

The form of blending they do on some tracks is really played out as they sometimes overplay the same verse on more than one blend. "Rebirth V" was kind of intresting, it reminds me of a name such as "Tha Carter V". The "Crazy Techno" remix to "Knockout" was the most disappointing part on this album.

I expected a insane Club/Techno beat, like one of those Rock/Rap to Club/Techno with all of that intensity but it wasn't like that because the acapella to Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj's voices are CHIPMUNKED! I mean really! CHIPMUNKED!! The up-tempo on the track was great, but really? Chipmunked?

"Maybach Music III (Snippet) [Tagged]" is probobly the song "Veterans Day". "Maybach Music III" is kind of its original name but now the real Maybach Music III is coming out and it has Rick Riss, Jadakiss, T.I., etc. and all of this.

Well anyway I have alot of different feelings for this mixtape. I think I'll give it a "5.7 - 7.0/10" I think. I hope whoever dropped this tune can try better next time! And good attempt! But this isn't a horrible mixtape, the "O Let's Do It (Remix)" and tracks 1-6 were some pretty solid tracks.
